Finally left Kathmandu for (Chinese haha) Tibet!
It’s so beautiful here! I kind of understand why it’s so much taboo to come here now. Lhasa reminds me so much of China, I feel at home.
Had yummy Tibetian dumplings, called home, emailed and walked around! People are so friendly and cute here!
Purchased lip balm for men for Corey!
Wow still alive after all this time! Amazing isn’t it! Ha ha. We finally arrived in the capital city of Tibet called Lhasa today. We are beyond happy! The first country we actually wanted to go to and it only took us 5 days , 5 different flights and involved spending time in Thailand and Nepal. Compared to Kathmandu Tibet is paradise. The scenery is beautiful, the air is crisp and the food is cheap! (just paid ten australian dollars for 2 serves of dumplings, a chicken dish, a buger with salad and fries (haha it was a YAK burger!) and drinks with tea!)
The height here will take a bit of adusting too. Lhasa is apparently the second highest airport. We are with our organised tour at this point of our trip as you can’t get into tibet without one. There is only four other people besides us in the group! The rest of the group pussied out because of the riots in Nepal. One guy is a total moron in the sense that he is one of the simplest people we have ever met.
OH we have had some trouble! Our Tibetian visa cancelled out
our double entry chinese visa! SHIT! Probably the most convient visa to have cancelled on us as we should be able to get it easy as in Hong Kong. Still are waiting for the documents (originals) for our russian business letters to arrive in Australia. Other then that everything is fine.
Might get to practice dodgy mandarin if anyone is willing to listen!
LOVE YOU GUYS LONG TIME
Kimberley and COREY.
