Testosterone gels a risk to children

Testosterone gels made by Solvay SA and Auxilium Pharmaceuticals Inc, used to boost sex drive in aging men, may inadvertently rub off on children with harmful effects that include enlarged genitalia, US regulators said.

Childrens secondhand exposure to the products also has been linked to increased libido and premature development of pubic hair, the Food and Drug Administration said today in a statement.
